The Glenwood Booster Club recently celebrated its 25-year anniversary.  Its purpose is to raise funds to help supplement Glenwood athletic programs with new uniforms, special equipment, and other items that would not otherwise be possible.  In 2010/2011, the Booster Club will raise between $40,000-$50,000 and put it back into the various Glenwood athletic programs, and this past year purchased all the weight room equipment at the new high school.  The Booster Club’s main fundraising activities include an annual auction each spring, concessions, sale of athletic apparel, Booster Club memberships, golf tournament, and banner advertising.

The Banner program works like this………the business or organization is in charge of purchasing their own banner from one of three merchants in Glenwood (Joe Designer, De’Sign Avenue, Sign Pro (Warren’s Jewelry)).  All banners are 8’ x 31/2’ and generally cost about $160.  The business or organization then enters into a $350, three-year agreement for the display of their banner at the Glenwood football field/track (installment plan available, $125/yr. for 3 years.)  The banners are on display from the start of the track season until the end of football season in early November.  There is also program recognition during the winter sports season when the banners are not on display.  The Booster Club cares for and stores the banners, which are insured against damage or theft. The business/organization is responsible for updating their banners as needed.

The Booster Club is a non-profit organization so your donation is tax-deductible.  At the end of the three-year contract the business or organization will have the option of entering into a new three-year contract.  Early renewals are normally available for a reduced fee.

The Booster Club banner program is a great promotional and advertising tool for your business.  Now is a good time to get involved so your banner will be ready to be placed at the track at the beginning of football season.
